Community Power Group is thrilled to announce that we have won an award to build solar at the Salisbury-Ocean City: Wicomico Regional Airport (“Salisbury Regional Airport”) through a competitive bidding process! The Salisbury Regional Airport sees over 130,000 travelers a year, and serves as a major transportation hub for the greater Delmarva Peninsula. With multiple facilities on-site that have unique electricity demands, CPG is excited to have formulated a project design that helps the Airport meet these demands with renewable energy.CPG is developing multiple solar farms that will be situated in optimal locations across the ~820 acre property, which are in conformance with FAA guidelines. While the exact sizes of the solar systems are still being finalized, the advent of the proposed solar projects will provide substantial electrical cost savings to the Airport for years to come. CPG is delighted to be working on such a unique project in our home state, and feel lucky to be partnering with the great folks at Salisbury Regional Airport in this endeavor. We are excited about the ways in which developing solar at an airport will help us learn and expand upon our knowledge as a company, and look forward to this project coming to fruition within the next year!
