Community Power Group is pleased to announce the commencement of construction of three ground-mounted solar facilities in Illinois. The three projects will be 2 MW community solar farms consisting of single-axis tracking racking systems, and dual-sided photovoltaic modules. This combination of racking and PV modules produces a higher efficiency of electrical power due to its ability to capture direct sunlight as the sun’s angle changes throughout the day.

Examples of the racking systems and modules can be seen in the photographs above, taken at the Beecher Solar Farm project site. Other pictures have been included to show the various phases of construction for building a solar farm.

The projects are located in Beecher, Rockford, and St. Anne, Illinois and in the counties of Will, Winnebago, and Kankakee, respectively. The projects each have their own construction timeline and are estimated to be fully operational by Spring of 2022.
