We are excited to announce the start of construction of a 500 kW solar facility at Olive-Harvey College in Chicago, IL. This project will provide on-site power to a college and campus community that has already demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability through its existing rooftop solar facility and community garden. Community Power Group (CPG) is proud to support Olive-Harvey in achieving its sustainability goals while helping the college save on electricity costs.
Additionally, this project is part of the Illinois Solar for All Program, which provides discounted energy to public facilities and nonprofits. CPG has been a proud participant in this program since its inception in 2017, and we’re thrilled to see another one of our projects contribute to its mission.
We are also proud to partner with Millennium Solar Electric, a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), which is playing a key role in the installation of the solar system. Millennium Solar operates an outstanding training academy, offering industry-leading education in electrical trade, photovoltaic solar installation, and energy efficiency.
The facility is expected to be fully operational by summer, and we look forward to delivering clean, affordable energy to Olive-Harvey College!
